Opportunity to become an apprentice at Naval Ship Repair Yard, Kochi There are 172 vacancies in various trades. ITI selects eligible candidates. Women can also apply. Three per cent of the vacancies are reserved for the disabled. The training will begin on October 15, 2019.

Electrician 13, Electronic Mechanic 17, Machinist 9, Turner 7, Welder (Gas & Electrical) 10, Painter (General) 8, Electroplater 5, Mechanic Motor Vehicle 2, Mechanical Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (MRAC) 8, Fitter 18, Computer Operation of Programming Assistant 13, Shipwright (Wood) Carpenter 12, Sheet Metal Worker (SMW) 8, Diesel Mechanic 16, Tech Yuler (General) 4, Cutting and Sewing Machine Operator 4, Mechanical Instrument (Aircraft) 6, Electrician (Aircraft) 6, Mechanic Radio and Radar Aircraft 6.

Eligibility: Matriculation / 10th grade with minimum 50% marks and ITI with 65% marks in relevant trade. (Provisional National Trade Certificate will also be considered). Those who have already done apprenticeships in any Government / Public / Private / Industrial sector are not eligible to apply.
Age: Should not exceed 21 years as on October 1, 2019. SC, ST The OBCs will be given to the community for five years. Allotment of three years will be waived.


Physical fitness: Height - minimum 150 cm, weight not less than 45 kg. 5 cm in chest development. Vision 6/6 6/9 (with glasses 6/9).

; Selection: Matriculation / SSLC and ITI Written Examination / Interview will be based on the marks in the examination. Successful candidates will need a physical examination and police verification. The merit list will be prepared based on satisfactory reports.

How to Apply: Fill in the prescribed form with six passport size photo, SSC / Matriculation Mark Sheet, Birth Date and ITI. Apply along with attested copies of Marksheet, PAN Card, Aadhaar Card, SC / ST / Reservation of Requirements (required) and Gazetted Officer / Institutional Head Certificate. The NCC and sports partners must also produce an attested document proving they are the children of soldiers, freedmen, Armed Forces and Dockyard employees.
